General Policy

Purpose:

• To ensure sustainability is integrated into the AV and production activities
• To promote documentation of policies


Activities Implemented:

 Production staff sourced from the local labour pool


Communications

• To encourage and promote adoption of sustainable practices by all stakeholders


Activities:

1. Participants and subscribes to the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact and the COP requirements accordingly


Waste

Purpose:

• To reduce energy use and production of greenhouse gases through proper waste handling
• To advocate materials management hierarchy for waste in order of the follow
o Eliminate waste by reducing material use
o Minimise waste through reuse or recycling
o Minimise waste through composting
o Land filling and combustion or incineration for remaining waste
• To manage materials in a sustainable manner that conserves virgin resources that would otherwise serve as raw materials for new products


Activities Implemented:

1.
 All plans, proofs and designs are shared electronically
2.
 Reuse, recycle or ensure that recyclable materials are used in all set and scene materials (highlight the percentage of materials reused, recycled and recyclable)
3. Rent as oppose to purchase components as much as possible


Energy

Purpose:

• To minimize energy usage and maximize energy efficiency through use of selective or specific materials


Activities Implemented:

1. To be advised


Air Quality

Purpose:

• To promote improvements in overall air quality


Activities Implemented:

1. Produce or rent components close to the venue
2. Avoid the use of indoor pyrotechnics


Procurement

Purpose:

• To stimulate the creation of sustainable business opportunities and choices, thereby also contributing to the sustainable energy, water and waste management objectives above


Activities Implemented:

1. Enforce environmental criteria for selecting equipment


Community Partners

Purpose:

• To leverage positive host community benefits from events
