B4E, Business for the Environment, is the world’s leading international conference for dialogue and business-driven action for the environment.
Hosted in partnership by UNEP, the UN Global Compact, WWF, the host government of the summit and Global Initiatives, the Summit focuses on multi-stakeholder partnership solutions needed to address the mounting climate and inter-related environmental issues, and turning crises into opportunities. CEOs and senior executives from leading global companies will join leaders from government, international agencies, NGOs and other organisations in plenary and working group discussions to share and develop best practices, industry standards as well as, sustainable growth strategies.
The annual B4E Global Summit takes place April of every year in a selected host city with the last Summit held in Seoul, South Korea and previous summits convened in Paris, France and Singapore. The annual Summit host country for 2011 will be announced soon. A special B4E Climate Summit will be convene in Mexico City in October 2010 that will produce a policy message from global business leaders for climate action ahead of the COP 16 in Cancun.

B4E to Convene Special Climate Summit in Mexico leading up to COP 16 A special B4E Summit on Climate Change will be held in Mexico City on 4 & 5 October, hosted in partnership by UNEP, the UN Global Compact, WWF, the Government of Mexico and Global Initiatives. Entitled “Accelerating solutions through partnership and innovation”, the Summit will focus on transformative climate solutions needed to address the mounting climate and inter-related environmental issues — turning crises into opportunity. The summit will address what companies are doing and what more they can do to accelerate and deliver solutions for moving towards a lower emission, resource efficient and green economy. Demonstrating how companies are transforming the way they operate to address today’s climate challenges, the conference will link with and produce a policy message from global business leaders with policy recommendations for climate action ahead of the COP 16 in Cancun. |
